Making Disciples - Final

Making Disciples - Final In this final meeting on Making Disciples, I want to go to the Old Testament prophets and the New Testament Apostles to see what some of them said about such matters. I also want to preview our next study which will be going through the book of Romans. We will start with the Old Testament and go left to right. We will finish with a verse from OT Proverbs. Isaiah 65:1-2 (1)  I was ready to be sought by those who did not ask for me; I was ready to be found by those who did not seek me. I said, “Here I am, here I am,” to a nation that was not called by my name. (2)  I spread out my hands all the day to a rebellious people, who walk in a way that is not good, following their own devices; Acts 17:16-34 Paul Addresses the Areopagus Act 17:22  So Paul, standing in the midst of the Areopagus, said: “Men of Athens, I perceive that in every way you are very religious. Act 17:23  For as I passed along and observed the o...

What is meant by 'All Scripture'? *OR* A post hazardous to my health!

08/11/2019 11:18.02 AM As I was doing my daily devotional, the passage written by Paul to Timothy was part of it. By Providence, I had the opportunity to film a fellow Brother making a short video where this was alluded to. I began thinking about what Paul was saying and, at the risk of being trolled and flamed, I must say that I have a different opinion about how his statements are interpreted today. At the time of the writings of Paul's letter, there was no New Testament. That is historical fact. Putting that in context, it is plain that scripture was what we call the Old Testament. Let's look at what he actually said (at least translated/transliterated in to English). "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for ...

Methods of Evangelism

Evangelistic Method #1  – The Romans Road is an “Intellectual” Method of Evangelism. Romans Road lays out the “path” of salvation through a series of Bible verses from the book of Romans. When arranged in order, these verses form an easy systematic way of explaining the message of salvation. There are many different versions with slight variations in scriptures, but the basic message and method are the same. The Romans Road method is an easy way to explain: who needs salvation, why we need salvation, how God provides salvation, how we receive salvation and finally the results of salvation.  The first step on the path is, Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (KJV)  The second step is, Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”   The third step is, Romans 5:8, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, C...
